In a bid to spread the message of Article 51A of the Indian Constitution, that lists fundamental duties to be performed by each citizen, a UK couple completed a reverse Dandi March, walking from Dandi to Ahmedabad. Hiten Patel, 55, and his wife Sangita, 51, began the march on March 12, reaching Ahmedabad on April 1.

Hiten, who calls himself 'Bharatvasi on Duty', highlighted issues like upholding and protecting the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country, promoting harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities, and to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women. Hiten also highlighted the need to protect and improve the natural environment and develop the scientific temper, humanism and spirit of inquiry.
