No truck with AIADMK in TN: BJP

Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan said his party won't align with AIADMK in the forthcoming assembly polls. This is the first time since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections that a BJP functionary has made such a categorical statement about its political equations with the ruling AIADMK. “BJP is an alternative force in the state. The National Democratic Alliance will have a CM candidate and will emerge successful,” Tamilisai said in Salem. BJP's decision, despite its good equations with AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa, seems to be driven by the fact that the former chief minister is still battling corruption charges, and comes in the backdrop of recent developments in the wealth case against her.
