Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu may quit his post if the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau files a supplementary FIR naming him as one of the accused in the shocking cash-for-vote scam.

Officials from the bureau said they were seeking permission from the court to file the FIR. It has also been revealed by sources that Naidu held lengthy meetings with DGP J V Ramudu, the state intelligence chief and other senior officials. He has also informed PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah that union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajpathi Raju may be appointed as a replacement in the event of his resignation.

Naidu's brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna, senior ministers K Narayana and Y Ramakrishnudu were among other aspirants for the top post, but sources said Naidu preferred Raju, a loyalist and a capable administrator.
It is said that along with Naidu, a central minister and two TDP MPs would be named as accused in the supplementary FIR. The Telangana ACB had already made TDP Telangana MLA A Revanth Reddy as the prime accused and arrested him along with two others on May 31.
Reddy was caught by the ACB offering Rs 5000,000 as advance for a total Rs 50 million to Telangana's nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote for the TDP candidate in the MLC election on June 1.
