Chennai: On the occasion of this 91st birthday, DMK party leader president M Karunanidhi referred to his son Stalin as “Our future,” keeping the obvious, unofficial and under wraps. “He is the treasurer of the party until now and hereafter...,” he said without completing his sentence. He further said, “I think you will understand what I want to convey. If not, there is nothing wrong.” Karunanidhi, on several occasions in the past, had made it clear that Stalin would take over after him, which caused expectations for the official announcement to be made on his birthday. Stalin also utilised the time to remind the partymen that his rise in the party and the administration had become possible only through tireless work.
