Stellar International Art Foundation will present a selection of work by acclaimed artist Paresh Maity at the Hyatt Ahmedabad for the 2015 Vibrant Gujarat Summit. Maity is a constant traveller and his journeys are a crucial part of his life and the inspiration for his art. He takes on the flavour and language of every new place from Venice to China, Rajasthan to Japan.

The works exhibited here are from the artist’s acclaimed Kerala series, which are the result of a commission from the Kerala Government to do his own visual interpretation of the region – documented in An Enchanting Journey. He is only the second artist after MF Husain to have received such a honour.

These intimate watercolours show not just the colour of the region but also it’s luminosity. More than just a master of colour Maity is a master of light. Born in Tamluk, historical town in West Bengal in 1965, Maity received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata, followed by Master’s Degree from the College of Art, New Delhi.

He has held over 65 solo shows and has participated in several prestigious shows in India and abroad. Several books have been published on the works of Paresh Maity, the recent amongst are 'The World on a Canvas – A Visual Voyage' based on the works inspired by various travels of artist. Maity’s work is in public and private collections all over the world, including the British Museum, the Commonwealth Development Corporation, the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, Vatican Embassy in New Delhi, Tata Iron & Steel Co. ITC, RPG etc.

Stellar International Art Foundation is proud to support this great Indian Artist not only through acquisition of some of his most acclaimed series, including Kerala, but also through exhibition and publications – the first of which will be published in March 2015.
