BENGALURU: Karnataka legislator Umesh Jadhav, who won the Chincholi assembly seat on a Congress ticket has officially joined the BJP after months of speculation. He is all set to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Kalaburagi. His candidature seems part of a two-pronged strategy: To diminish the hold of Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge. While it is an open secret that the popular two-time MLA would contest against Kharge, his candidature will raise concerns for Congress. Jadhav's Chincholi gram panchayat falls under Kalaburagi constituency, however, the Chincholi MLA constituency is part of the Bidar Lok Sabha seat.
