Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government, in response to Telangana's threats to issue a notice against chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in the cash-for-vote scam, has threatened to hit back his counterpart K Chandrashekhar Rao with counter cases.

Andhra agriculture minister P Pulla Rao told reporters that Telangana's Anti-Corruption Bureau has no right to issue a notice. He also pointed his finger at Chandrashekhar Rao, saying he already had 87 cases against him, investigated by the Special Investigation Team. “There is also a case of phone tapping. We have evidence which will lead to the collapse of TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samiti) government,” he claimed. The Telugu Desam Party has dismissed all reports of Naidu resigning. “There is no question of Naidu resigning. We are not afraid,” he said.

Another minister Atchan Naidu said Telangana chief minister can't escape from law in phone tapping case. “Naidu has done nothing wrong,” he said. Revanth Reddy, a member of Telangana assembly, was arrested by ACB on May 31 while he was allegedly offering Rs 5000,000 to nominated member Elvis Stephenson in exchange for a vote to party candidate. An audio tape of Naidu's alleged telephonic conversation with Stephenson was aired on some television channels on June 7.

TRS leaders alleged that Naidu was the mastermind and demanded that he be booked. Andhra government has denied the allegations and claimed that the audio tape is fake. It also alleged that TRS government is tapping the phones of Naidu and his ministers.
