8 kg gold seized at Chennai airport

Chennai: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials seized over eight kg of gold from two passengers at the Chennai International Airport last week. According to reports, the officials, acting on a tip off, booked the passengers on charges related to smuggling. The two suspects were travelling to Muscat and Riyadh respectively. The value of the gold seized has reportedly been around Rs 25 million.
