Sibi George appointed as Indian envoy to Japan

Sibi George has been appointed the next ambassador of India to Japan. The Ministry of external affairs confirmed it and said, "Sibi George (IFS: 1993), presently Ambassador of India to the State of Kuwait, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Japan." He has previously served as an ambassador in Switzerland, Holy See, and Lichtenstein.

Neeta Bhushan to be High Commissioner to New Zealand

Senior IFS officer Neeta Bhushan has been named as the High Commissioner of India to New Zealand. Neeta, a 1994 batch officer, is currently the Additional Secretary in charge of Central Europe in the Ministry of External Affairs. A career diplomat, Neeta’s overseas assignments include Head of the Press, Culture and Information Wing at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and Head of the Economic and Commercial Wing at the Indian Embassy in Berlin.

Prakash Chand is new envoy to the State Of Eritrea

Prakash Chand (2004), presently Consul General, Consulate General of India, Bali, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the State of Eritrea. Prior to his current assignment in Bali, he was working as Director (Consular) in the Consular, Passport & Visa Division in the Ministry of External Affairs. Prior to that, he served in various capacities in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi as well as in the Indian Missions in Uganda, the UK, Egypt, China, and Austria.

Farewell to Vikram Doraiswami

Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen hosted a farewell lunch for outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Vikram Kumar Doraiswami. During the farewell speech, the foreign secretary called him a true friend of Bangladesh. Doraiswami said, "A career-defining honour to have served my country in this most vital and vibrant relationship." Doraiswami is expected to join as the new High Commissioner of India to the UK very soon.

Mukul Rohatgi to return as Attorney General

Senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi will return as the Attorney General of India, the government's top lawyer. Mukul Rohatgi, 67, stepped down as Attorney General in June 2017. KK Venugopal took over after him. Mukul Rohatgi will begin his second stint on October 1, sources say.
