Small--Brawl between Shiv Sena and Damdami Taksal supporters averted

Amritsar: On the birth anniversary of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, radical Sikh leader, a major brawl between the supporters of Sher-e-Punjab Shiv Sena and Damdami Taksal (Ajnala jatha) was averted by police at Amritsar. The Shiv Sena workers were heading towards prominent hall gate for burning the effigy of Bhindranwale but they were stopped by taksal supporters and situation became critical. Both sides were equipped with sharp edged weapons. With the swift intervention of police, situation was controlled soon and many leaders of both factions were arrested from the sides.
