Kundan Chandrawat, an RSS Ujjain sah-prachar pramukh, has offered £100,000 for the head of Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the “killing of over 300 Sangh workers” in the state. Later, Chandrawat expressed his regret over the comment and withdrew it following an outcry and RSS itself distancing from his comment.

“If somebody beheads Vijayan and brings his head to me, I will put my house and my property worth £100,000 in his name.” Chandrawat was allegedly said during a function which was attended by more than 100 people. When asked for his comment, Madhya Pradesh home minister Bhupendra Singh said that in a democracy everybody has the freedom of speech and Chandrawat has reacted against what was happening in Kerala.

The Kerala CM laughed off the threat but the CPM has decided to raise it as a major campaign against the RSS and BJP. Chandrawat issued a statement, “I was hurt and angered by the continuous killings of RSS workers in Kerala and expressed my feelings. I take back my statements on the CM of Kerala made in Ujjain. I express my regret.”

During the meeting, he had also referred to the Godhra incident and subsequent riots in Gujarat and threatened the “Leftists” saying: “Three lakh people will be slain in revenge for the killing of 300 RSS workers.” The video of his speech went viral on social media, evoking strong reactions from different quarters. The RSS immediately distanced itself from his comments, saying that it was Chandrawat's individual opinion.
