Punjab govt wants to review retirement age

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has ordered a review of the policy governing the extension of retirement age by two years, over and above the age of 58. Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said the government wanted to fix 58 as the retirement age to generate more employment opportunities for the youth. Regarding delay in repayment of crop loans by the farmers in the wake of debt waiver announced by his government, Singh said the government was already in the process of settlement with banks.
