High-level panel to resolve cases of Sikh prisoners

Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has constituted a high- level committee to ensure timely resolution of pending matters related to Sikh prisoners. This decision was taken during a meeting with the representatives of different Sikh organisations called to review the situation arising out of the fast- unto -death undertaken by 80 year old activist Surat Singh Khalsa. The CM said that the committee would examine on priority basis each and every case as per the list of 82 cases submitted. He also assured that the state government would look into all the requests with 'sympathy and sensitivity'.
