Jalandhar: Congress has demanded the resignation of Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma on moral grounds following drug trafficking allegations against members of his party and the leaders of ruling coalition in the state. State Congress general secretary Satnam Kainth said, “On moral grounds, Sharma should immediately resign or should be expelled by the BJP.” Referring to the allegations, he said the state's image has been tarnished and demanded a CBI probe into the matter. “Allegations are being made against ruling coalition's ministers, leaders, their associates and relatives of being complicit in the drug trade... This is tarnishing the image of the state globally and the BJP and Akali leaders are responsible for it,” the Congress leader said.
