Court summons Sukhbir in murder bid case

FARIDKOT: Court of District and Sessions Judge, Faridkot summoned Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal after a resident of Kotkapura challenged his acquittal in a 17 year old attempt-to-murder case. Taking cognisance of the appeal filed by Naresh Kumar, the Sessions Judge issued a notice of appeal to Sukhbir seeking his personal appearance before the court on July 5. The judge, in his orders, wrote that the appellant had arguable points involved in the appeal. Sukhbir was acquitted in a 10-year old criminal case, by the court of Judicial Magistrate, First Class.
