The CBI has filed an FIR against Manish Sisodia and five other people, including former vigilance secretary Sukesh Jain, in relation to the Delhi government's feedback unit (FBU), which was allegedly used for snooping, spying, and gathering political intelligence. This is new trouble for the former deputy CM.

After receiving approval from the lieutenant governor and the ministry of home affairs to move forward against the accused, the agency filed the FIR on March 14. The agency will shortly urge other accused people to join the probe even though Sisodia is already in custody and will probably be questioned there. The preliminary inquiry, on the basis of which the FIR has been lodged, revealed that the creation of the FBU was approved vide a cabinet decision on September 29, 2015, which was taken on the basis of a“tabled item with the approval of the chief minister of Delhi”, the FIR states.

The relevant public officials used the feedback unit (FBU) of the Delhi government for reasons other than those for which it was obviously intended. Without any pertinent work being completed, funds were improperly allocated to it and even increased, according to the agency.

Besides Sisodia and Jain, the FIR names retired CISF DIG Rakesh Sinha, who was working as a special adviser to CM Arvind Kejriwal and joint director of FBU. It also names former joint deputy director of Intelligence Bureau and deputy director (FBU) Pradeep Kumar Punj, retired assistant commandant of CISF and (FBU) officer Satish Khetrapal, and Gopal Mohan, adviser, anti-corruption, to Kejriwal.
