Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the two leaders reviewing progress across various areas of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership.
They also exchanged views on the evolving situation in Middle East, as the strategic ties between the two countries continue to deepen.
According to a PIB statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reviewed the progress of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors for mutual benefit. The two leaders also exchanged views on recent developments in Middle East and agreed to remain in close contact.
The Middle East conflict has entered its sixth month with no lasting solution in sight. Iran said it is finalising an agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping and energy route through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas passed before the war began with US and Israeli strikes on Iran in February.
