Mamata to visit Italy, Germany to attract investments

KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is on a visit to Italy and Germany to draw investment to the State. He first stop was in Milan, where she discussed investment into West Bengal's leather industry. A second summit was held in Dusseldorf, Germany. The events titled 'Biswa Bangla Business Summits', scheduled from September 16 to 28, are return visits to countries that joined the Bengal Business Summit in Kolkata in January. Banerjee said, “The Bengal Business Summit has drawn Rs 9.5 Lakh Crore investment proposals. And work on projects worth Rs 3.60 Lakh Crore has already started.” She was also invited by Poland, but sent one of her ministers instead.
