Cop suspended for dancing inside police station

KOLKATA: A policeman in West Bengal has been pulled off duty by his bosses for dancing to Bollywood music opposite to a lock-up at the police station. The officer who shot the “fun” on video and posted it online, was also suspended. Sub Inspector Krishna Sadhan Mondal let his hair down, dancing to the tune, as women officers clapped and cheered in the background. The minute-long video went viral on the internet.

Mondal, who worked at the Hirapur police station, Asansol, was on duty when the video was shot. It is reported that he was celebrating his transfer to the Chittaranjan police station. A departmental inquiry against him was initiated after the video went viral. Commissioner of Asansol-Durgapur Police Commiserate, Laxmi Narayan Meena said, “The police officer concerned has been closed and departmental inquiry has been ordered on the entire event.”
