The internet is a world full of opportunities. Many people have used this medium to become successful bloggers and vloggers, sharing their experiences with the general public on the internet, while some choose to go a step ahead and make creative videos to highlight their talents.
One example is of British YouTuber, Dan Middleton, 26, known as DanTDM. He previously worked in Tesco and would film himself playing Minecraft and Pokemon in between shifts. Five years on, Middleton from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire has 16 million subscribers on the famous video site, where his channel is more popular than Beyoncé's and Adele's. He is now the highest paid star on YouTube.
According to Forbes Magazine, Middleton made £12.3 million in one year, which is much more than the salaries of many Hollywood celebrities and Premier League footballers.
Another online success story is of the Canadian vlogger of Indian origin, Lilly Singh, 29. Her YouTube channel, IISuperwomanII, has put her tenth on the Forbes list of highest earning YouTube channels. She is also the only woman to feature on the list and is said to have made a remarkable £7.8 million in one year. Her satirical videos are an instant hit with her subscribers, as well as her fictitious parents Manjeet and Paramjeet Singh, both played by Lilly Singh herself, is hysterically funny while it also reminds one of their own parents.
Lilly Singh has also collaborated with many popular YouTubers in her videos, as well as many A-list celebrities, including her all time favourite Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, and the Bollywood diva, Madhuri Dixit, and the international sensation, Priyanka Chopra.
