£30 mn budget for Rajamouli’s next

SS Rajamouli's upcoming 'RRR' featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles, was initially reported to have a budget of approximately £20 million. However, reports now suggest that produce DVV Danayya revealed in a recent interview during 'Bharat Ane Nenu' promotions that the budget is actually as high as £30 million. The movie is currently in the pre-production stage, and Ram Charan and Jr NTR have returned from the US after completing the test photo shoot.

Rajamouli shares a good rapport with both the actors, having worked with Charan in 'Magadheera' and NTR in 'Student No. 1'. Shooting for 'RRR' is expected to commence in August this year, with both the stars presently busy with their other assignments.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli has a star-struck fan in Bollywood. Varun Dhawan, whose latest 'October' is faring exceptionally at the box office, has expressed interest in working with Rajamouli. Talking about his wish to work in the South Indian film industry, Dhawan said, “I want to work with Shankar and SS Rajamouli. I have always wanted to debut as a hero in Tamil or Telugu cinema. Ram Charan is a good friend, and told me to learn Telugu. I love watching South Indian cinema, and am even influenced by their choices. Films like 'Arjun Reddy' or 'Mercury', for instance. Let's not even talk about how Malayalam films are the king of content.”
