Leo imparted a significant lesson to Vijay and Tamil filmmakers: announcing a release date before the completion of a film's shoot is not advisable in Kollywood. Lokesh Kanagaraj emphasised that revealing Leo's release date prematurely limited his creative freedom to refine the script. Consequently, "The Greatest of All Time" refrained from announcing its release date until the film commenced shooting in 2023.

Finally, the anticipation has ended, with the makers unveiling an official poster along with the release date for the Venkat Prabhu directorial. The new poster showcases Vijay donning a salt-and-pepper look, complete with spectacles, imparting a nerdy vibe to the iconic mass hero. Within the poster, a bomb blast scene unfolds against a European backdrop, hinting at the film's action-packed narrative. Notably, the passport displayed on the poster is adorned with numerous visa stamps, indicating that the movie will traverse through multiple locales.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, known for backing Vijay's "Bigil," the movie marks the debut collaboration between Vijay and Venkat Prabhu. Described as a sci-fi action drama centred around time travel, the film sees Vijay portraying dual roles: a middle-aged, nerdy character and a younger, stylish persona.

Speculations suggest that both characters portrayed by Vijay in "The Greatest of All Time" are the same person from different timelines. Director Venkat Prabhu, who recently found success with "Maanaadu," employed a time-loop concept in that film. Besides Vijay, the cast includes Prabhudheva, Prashanth, Ajmal, Meenakshi Chaudhry, Laila, Sneha, Mohan, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu in significant roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose the music. There are rumours that this could be Vijay's final film as he transitions into full-time politics, although he might consider one more project before retiring from acting.
