Vijay Sethupathi is all set to make his Malayalam film debut with Sajan Kalathil's 'Marconi Mathai'.

Reports suggest the actor will play the character named Mathai, who is good at problem solving and only spreads positivity. The movie will also feature Jayaram, who will play an ex-military man who falls in love with Anna, a sweeper at the bank where he works. The film is touted to be a wholehearted family drama and will be produced by Satyam Audios.

'Macroni Mathai' will be shot in Goa, Changanassery, Ernakulam, and Chennai and shooting will start on January 11. Also in the movie are Malayalam actors Nedumudi Venu, Aju Varghese, Hareesh Kanaran, Srinda, Sidharth Siva, Gregory and Mamukkoya. Vijay is currently on a high of an extremely successful year. He was part of huge projects and delivered one of the biggest hits this year with '96'. 'Seethakaathi' featuring him hit the screens last week to positive reception, and he currently awaits the release of Rajinikanth-starrer 'Petta' on Pongal next year.
