Vijay-starrer Tamil film 'Master' has been certified U/A by the CBFC, and the movie is reportedly set to release in cinemas for the Pongal festival this year. Makers of the film have been aiming for a theatrical release for quite some time now. They released a new poster with the film. However, they haven't officially announced the release date yet.

'Master' features Vijay in the role of a college professor with a violent past. It also stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, along with Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Andrea Jeremiah in major roles. Produced by Xavier Britto, it marks the maiden collaboration of Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Producers have clarified multiple times that the film won't skip its theatrical release. Reports had emerged a couple of months ago that 'Master' has offered a £12.5 million deal by Amazon Prime for an exclusive release. The report was, however, denied by the film's executive producer Lalit.
