Unearthed glimpses from renowned filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty's formative years have emerged, illuminating his profound affection for Yakshagana dance and folklore. Beginning as a passionate Yakshagana enthusiast in sixth grade, Rishab's journey has evolved into a significant presence in Indian cinema.

His unwavering commitment to Yakshagana, evident in the unearthed pictures, underscores his early devotion to art and entertainment.

Reflecting on his artistic evolution, Rishab Shetty remarked in a statement, "My journey as an artist started when I was in 6th standard when I performed Yakshagana. Since then, I have always dreamt of bringing the folklore of my region to the big screen for the world to see." 

The revered folklore dance form Yakshagana played a pivotal role in Rishab Shetty's acclaimed film 'Kantara: The Legend.' Particularly, the traditional dance was intricately integrated into the track 'Varahroopam' in 'Kantara,' underscoring the director's dedication to preserving and spotlighting regional culture on a global scale.

Currently, Rishab Shetty is gearing up for the highly-anticipated prequel to 'Kantara: Chapter 1' and the movie is said to be mounted on a much bigger canvas than the first film.
