Rashmika Mandanna has completed filming what is being described as India's first female-led underwater fight sequence for her upcoming action thriller Mysaa. The actor performed the demanding sequence herself without using a body double, spending nearly 20 hours underwater over two days.
The makers shared behind-the-scenes images from the shoot, showing Rashmika in a wetsuit receiving instructions from the stunt team and divers before filming. Directed by Rawindra Pulle, the sequence is being positioned as one of the film's biggest highlights and a milestone for female-led action in Indian cinema.
Speaking about the experience, Rashmika described it as the most challenging shoot of her career. She underwent extensive training before filming and worked closely with an international stunt team and underwater specialists to execute the action scenes safely.
Mysaa features Rashmika in the role of a fierce Gond tribal woman and marks a departure from the glamorous characters she has portrayed in recent years. The makers have said the film centres on a powerful female protagonist and combines action, emotion and folklore.
The ambitious underwater sequence is expected to be a key attraction when the film releases. Fans have praised Rashmika's commitment to performing the physically demanding stunts herself, with many describing the project as one of her most challenging roles to date.
