One of the very few filmmakers who prefer to shoot his films in India, Mani Ratnam made exceptions for his movies like 'Guru' and 'Kaatru Veliyidai'. And now, the director and his team are reportedly headed to Dubai, where they will be shooting an important portion featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Simbu for upcoming 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'. The upcoming is touted to be an action drama and boasts of an ensemble cast that also features Arvind Swami, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles.

Actors Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Thiyagarajan are also reportedly part of the movie. Swami said goodbye to the team after the Chennai schedule closed, as he was done with his portion. “Just Finished my work in Chekka Chivandha Vaanaam. As always it was privilege to work with Mani Sir, @santoshsivan, and the whole crew. #CCV will be special, can feel it. Now for a day's rest and then promotions for Bhaskar Oru Rascal releasing on May 11th, “ he tweeted. If reports are to be believed, the film is expected to release by the end of this year.
