Kangana to reprise Jayalalithaa's role in biopic

Kangana Ranaut is well known for her valiant character both on and off screen. Her latest 'Judgementall Hai Kya' and 'Manikarnika- The Queen of Jhansi', both are proof of her diverse role choices. She did her first Tamil movie in 2008, along with Jayam Ravi in 'Dhaam Dhoom'.

Now, the 'Queen' of Bollywood is set to reprise the role of late Tamil Nadu chief minister and yesteryear actress J Jayalalitha. The film, Thalaivi (Jaya in Hindi), is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh. The A L Vijay directorial will be scripted by KV Vijayendra Prasad. The DOP of the movie is Nirav Shah, while the music is composed by GV Prakash.

Meanwhile, Kangana is striving hard to perfect her character in the biopic. She is attending dance classes regularly in Mumbai and is also learning Tamil. The film is slated to go on the floors in November this year and is said to be released in three languages – Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

The most recent update is that Hollywood’s popular make-up artist “Jason Collins has been roped in for prosthetic makeup for the actress to look like Amma. Kangana will be seen sporting four looks spanning different ages in the film. Shooting begins post Diwali... #Thalaivi. (SIC)" the team tweeted.

Kangana's sister also confirmed the news saying, "Our team is travelling to Los Angeles on September 19 for the look test, the final transformation will be something that will amaze you all, a legendary woman playing another legendary woman, can’t wait for you all to see the first look #Thalaivi #Jayalalitha (SIC)."

The producer Vishnu Induri shared some interesting details on his Twitter, “The pre-production is in full swing and the team is in Mysore for the recce and as planned earlier the shoot will start post-Diwali. Kangana has four looks spanning different ages in the film and we need a good amount of pre-production for that. We have roped in Hollywood Make-up artists for Kangana's makeover. (SIC)”
