Actor Jiiva recently appeared in the Telugu political biography film "Yatra 2" alongside Mamooty, portraying the role of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Afterwards, he expressed his interest in portraying former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader M Karunanidhi in a film. The ruling party of Tamil Nadu recently celebrated the centenary of M Karunanidhi, featuring 100 rare photographs of the late leader at the event. Additionally, an exhibition is ongoing, set to conclude on June 10. Actor Jiiva attended the exhibition along with lyricist Pa Vijay.
Addressing the media afterward, Jiiva praised M. Karunanidhi's contributions to the state during his four-decade tenure as the leader of the DMK. The actor expressed his desire to portray the leader on screen if a biopic were ever made about him. However, he also acknowledged that a single film wouldn't adequately capture the richness of Kalaignar's life story, suggesting that it should be presented as a web series.
Jiiva made his debut with the film Aasai Aasaiyai and has acted in many films in his career. He last appeared in Custody and Singapore Saloon, both of which received very lukewarm responses at the box office.
