A criminal defamation complaint has been filed against actor Kamal Haasan alleging he had degraded a particular community in the July 14 episode of TV show 'Bigg Boss'. President of the Isai Vellalar community, KR Kuhesh stated that musical instrument 'Nadaswaram' which is treated like God by them, was thrown from one hand to the other by actor Sakthi who appeared in one of the episodes.
Kuhesh also contended that the instrument was kept on the dining table as contestants of the show had their food. He said that Haasan had not sought an apology even though, the actor, Sakthi, and producers of the show knew that insulting the musical instrument would hurt sentiments of the community. He also alleged they had intentionally insulted the Nasaawaran with the motive of attracting viewers and thereby caused defamation.
