Another Tamilan gets Oscar

Cottalango Leon, a Tamil native technician from the US, has booked himself the prestigious Oscar. The 44-year old technician was chosen for scientific and technological achievement, as his work towards a collaborative tool for 8 years in Sony Imageworks was recognised. Leon received his award in the Oscar Academy's Annual Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony held on February 13. He spoke in Tamil after receiving the award. He is the second Tamilian to receive an Oscar after A R Rahman.
