Priyanka Chopra extended her support to Dev Patel for his directorial debut, "Monkey Man." Both hailing from Indian origins, they are Hollywood actors and producers.

Priyanka took to her Instagram Stories to share a clip from Monkey Man. She wrote in the caption, “Bravo #DevPatel (applause emoji). What an impressive debut!” She also tagged other Indian actors from the cast, including Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Makarand Deshpande, and Vinit Kumar Sharma, who are all making their Hollywood debut with the film. She also tagged South African actor Sharlet Copley and co-producer Jordan Peele.

Sobhita replied to her on Instagram Stories, writing, “Thank you @priyankachopra (red heart emojis). Monkey Man out in theatres worldwide, go watch.”

In the meantime, Priyanka is occupied with the filming of "Heads of State," a comedy featuring John Cena, Idris Elba, and other notable stars. Additionally, she is set to appear in the Bollywood film "Jee Le Zaraa."

The action thriller tracks the odyssey of a young man, depicted by Dev Patel, who sets out to avenge his mother's demise, orchestrated by corrupt leaders. However, his pursuit of retribution veers unexpectedly, leading him to champion the cause of the marginalised and disenfranchised, evolving into the eponymous Monkey Man. Drawing inspiration from Indian mythology, particularly Lord Hanuman, the film delves into themes of justice and empowerment.

Beside Dev Patel, the film stars Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Makarand Deshpande, Ashwini Kalsekar, and more. "Monkey Man" made its debut at SXSW, garnering a standing ovation that moved Dev Patel to tears.
