Salim-Javed, the iconic screenwriting duo who transformed Indian cinema in the 1970s with classics like ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Sholay’, and ‘Deewar’, are set to reunite for a new film project, as announced by Javed Akhtar.

The industry veteran shared the news at the trailer launch of the upcoming Prime Video docuseries ‘Angry Young Men’, which delves into the influential creative partnership and enduring legacy of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.

"Let me share that we’ve decided to write together again. I’ve spoken to him and said, 'We will write one more film together.'"

"Back then, our price was already high, and now it will be much higher—just wait and see," Akhtar told reporters.

Salim-Javed are credited with redefining the Bollywood blockbuster by crafting films that resonated with audiences while capturing the social unrest of their era. They were also the first Indian screenwriters to attain star status.

After working together on 22 Hindi films and two Kannada movies, the duo parted ways in 1982.

The docuseries title, ‘Angry Young Men’, refers to the iconic hero archetype they created in the '70s, which not only captured the spirit of the era but also launched Amitabh Bachchan into stardom.
