Salman’s 'Bharat' breaks six records at the BO

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan celebrated Eid with the mega release of his latest 'Bharat'. The movie collected £4.23 million on day one of its release in India, and with a collection of £7.33 million in two days, it has already created several box office records. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Bharat' stars Katrina Kaif opposite Khan, along with Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Sunil Grover, and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. The movie has already broken a handful of records. 'Bharat' has already toppled Salman's 2015 Diwali release, 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' which had earned £3.93 million on its release day, making it the biggest opener for his career.

Bhaijaan took to Twitter to thank his fans, and wrote, “Big thk u sabko fr giving sabse bada opening mere career ka par what made me the happiest & proudest is ki during a scene in my film jab national anthem is recited ev1 stood up as a mark of respect. There could be no bigger respect for our country than this... Jai Hind #Bharat.” The movie is also the highest Bollywood opener for 2019, toppling Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari' that earned £2.1 million on the first day of the release.

Salman made it to the five openers in India ever with 'Bharat's opening collection. While 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' tops the list with £12.1 million, 'Avengers: Endgame' stands second on the slot with £5.3 million, 'Thugs of Hindostan' is on third place with £5.22 million, and now 'Bharat' stands fourth on the list. It is closely followed by 'Happy New Year', 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', and 'Khan's 'Sultan'.

'Bharat' registered record advance booking of £2.4 million, taking sixth spot on a list of best advance booking records in India. 'Avengers: Endgame' recorded the highest advance booking of £ 4.96 million.
