Vikramjit Singh who made his directorial debut with upcoming film “Roy” which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez, says that Ranbir doesn't like to work with his friends. "Ranbir has been a friend and I have known him since I was a child. We have discussed movies and cinema way before he made his debut in Bollywood with 'Saawariya'. We spend lot more time together. When I wrote this film I went up to him straight when he was shooting in the US. He reacted positively, came down to Mumbai and two months later he said I am on board," reveals Vikramjit.
Despite being friends with the actor, it wasn't a cakewalk for Vikramjit to have him in the film. According to the director, Ranbir doesn't work with friends. "Ranbir has lot of friends in this business probably closer friends than he is with me. He is an actor with lot of integrity and choses movies correctly. He is the most selfish actor and I will say it on his face. The day Ranbir starts doing a film for friendship, he will let himself down. And I know he won't allow that to happen. As a well-wisher and friend of him, I hope he doesn't change his stance. He does films which he feels have merit and 'Roy' came with the same deal," clarifies Vikramjit.
"Having said that, once he is on the set, Ranbir is the most fantastic actor to have there. It's not a surprise to me why every director goes to him and signs him again. He is a pure pleasure to work with, a professional to the core, and every director's dream," he adds.
