On the finale episode of season 2 of the vodcast "What The Hell Navya," Jaya Bachchan, along with Shweta and Navya Nanda, delved into the topic of friendships. The veteran actor opened up about her circle of friends both within and outside the industry, highlighting her husband, Amitabh Bachchan, as her closest confidant.

When questioned about her best friend, Jaya revealed that it was Amitabh, emphasising the importance of honesty in relationships. She also expressed her friendship with Navya, despite acknowledging certain limitations in their bond.

However, Jaya disclosed that despite the strong familial bonds, she values having a support system outside of her family circle. "I have friends from my college days who aren't associated with the film industry. They serve as my pillars of support," she remarked. Navya chimed in, noting the humour she and Agastya find in observing Jaya interact with her friends, who often tease her, a dynamic not commonly found within the family. "It's refreshing to have friends who keep you grounded," Jaya remarked, further revealing her fondness for befriending assistant directors on sets for some light-hearted banter.

In the same conversation, Shweta opined that Gen Z wasn’t loyal when it came to friendships. She said, “You make friends faster and lose them too, you don’t want to accommodate. I also don’t understand the concept of parents being friends, parents are parents. There need to be boundaries.”
