Indian and Pakistani Celebrities and Achievers on One Platform at the 10th Masala! Awards 2017

A benchmark for success in the community, The 10th Annual Masala awards returns to Dubai on Wednesday the 13th of December, for the very first time at the iconic Bollywood Parks, Dubai.  

 

The star-studded evening will see the best of industry, lifestyle and entertainment come together for an event that promises to be full of glamour, excitement and a true representation of South Asian talent in the region.  

 

This year, the starry line-up comprises veterans from the Hindi film industry who will share stage with talent from the UAE.  Leading the line-up will be Bollywood Comedy Legend Govinda who will set the stage on fire with his inimitable brand of dance moves, as well as performances by silver screen belle Ankita Lokhande, Pakistani Singer Bilal Saeed, a bespoke composition from virtuoso Emirati Composer Adel Farooq and the fantastic dance troupe from the Bollywood Parks and resorts. 

 

Hosted by the ever-affable Boman Irani, other celebrity guests expected to be in attendance include Bollywood heartthrob Arjun Rampal, Pakistan’s leading stars Saba Qamar and many more. The Masala Awards will be a rare occasion where celebrities from Indian and Pakistani film rub shoulders on the red carpet.

 

Beyond the glitz, the platform will also acknowledge and award the most influential, powerful, and inspiring names within the Asian community across multiple sectors.

 

Led by a stellar 2017 jury comprising the most respected names in business, lifestyle, fashion and hospitality such as Yogesh Mehta (CEO, Petrochem ), Sarah Belhasa (Vice-Chairperson, Saif Belhasa Group of Companies), Sima Ved (Vice Chairperson, Apparel Group) Manish Malhotra ( Celebrity Fashion Designer ), Rizwan Sajan ( Chairman, Danube Group), Harmeek Singh, (Founder, Plan b), and Celina Jaitly ( Actor and UN activist for Gender Equality ) to just name a few. 

 

Speaking about the awards, actress and activist Celina Jaitly said, “It is impressive to see how prominent South Asians have influenced and enriched the everyday lives of people in the UAE. It is wonderful to know and see that South Asians, especially the Indian community have contributed immensely towards Dubai’s successful journey. Being a part of Masala Awards’ most influential jury is like celebrating the continued contribution of every South Asian towards the vision and glory of UAE as a nation and Dubai’s success as the world’s most futuristic city.”  

 

Moreover, Interest and anticipation will build to a record high this year for the “ Popular Choice Category” as the Masala! Awards receives an incredible 90,000 votes from its readers and followers who voted for their favourite nominees.
