A report stated by Pinkvilla, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari has commenced production on "Ramayana," featuring a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol portraying Hanuman, and Yash as Ravana. Notably, Nitesh and producer Namit Malhotra have enlisted the talents of Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman for the project. Hans Zimmer, renowned for his exceptional work on films like "The Lion King," "Man of Steel," "Interstellar," "The Dark Knight Trilogy," and "Inception," joins AR Rahman to bring their musical expertise to "Ramayana."
A source informed the portal, stating, "Hans Zimmer is preparing to mark his debut in the Indian film industry with 'Ramayana.' Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari have consistently expressed their global aspirations for this Indian epic, and they are sparing no effort to realise that vision. Hans Zimmer is equally captivated by the narrative of Lord Ram's tale and is fully prepared to craft the score for 'Ramayana.'"
The source also mentioned that the music for "Ramayana" is being composed by AR Rahman, emphasising, "It's a perfect collaboration. Two renowned talents are joining forces to showcase India's narrative to the global audience."
The first instalment of the Ramayana trilogy is currently in production and is being hailed as the most costly production in Indian cinema. Ranbir, Sai, Sunny, and Yash are anticipated to commence shooting for their roles shortly. The film is slated for a potential Diwali 2025 release. Recently, footage from the film set has emerged online.
