Alia Bhatt to play Kashmiri girl in Meghna Gulzar’s next

With a vast array of characters to her credit, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' actress Alia Bhatt is now all set to play a Kashmiri girl in Meghna Gulzar's upcoming movie 'Raazi'. The news was confirmed by filmmaker Karan Johar, who shared details of her role on Twitter. “ALIA BHATT In #Raazi. . .produced by @DharmaMovies and @JungleePictures . . . directed by @meghnagulzar AND welcome aboard @vickykaushal09.”

The movie will be based on Harinder Sikka's novel 'Calling Sehmat'. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Alia Bhatt to enact the part of a Kashmiri girl married to a Pakistani army officer [Vicky Kaushal] in the espionage thriller #Raazi. . .” The film will be shot in Punjab and Kashmir in a start-to-finish schedule from July, followed by a small schedule in Mumbai.
