Actor Akshay Kumar has urged the British government and King Charles to watch his upcoming film ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, hoping they will “realise their mistake.” At a press conference, Akshay revealed that his grandfather witnessed the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and passed down the story through generations.

In the film, he plays C Sankaran Nair, the lawyer who legally challenged General Dyer and the British Raj after the 1919 tragedy. “This film is very personal,” Akshay said. “The massacre has stayed with me since childhood. What’s most shocking is how much history leaves out.”

Akshay Kumar also expressed his hopes that the British government and King Charles watch ‘Kesari Chapter 2’. “I’m not here with a begging bowl asking for an apology,” he said. “I just want them to watch the film and realise the mistake. The apology will come naturally—words will follow once they see what happened.”

The trailer, released earlier this month, offers a powerful glimpse into the emotional courtroom drama led by Akshay’s character, C Sankaran Nair. The film vividly portrays the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and its far-reaching impact across India. Also starring Ananya Panday as a law student and R Madhavan as Neville McKinley, ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ is set to release on April 18.
