Last year, rumours circulated that Adah Sharma, known for her role in "The Kerala Story," had purchased the Mumbai apartment previously occupied by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput before his demise. Addressing speculations during an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Adah discussed the constant inquiries she faced after being seen near the apartment. Sushant passed away from an alleged suicide on June 14, 2020.
When questioned about purchasing Sushant's sea-facing house, Adah responded, "At this moment, I would simply like to say that I reside in everyone's hearts. There's a time for everything to be revealed. When I visited the property, I found myself inundated with media scrutiny. I cherish my privacy; although I enjoy the limelight for my films, I've always valued my personal space."
The actor also expressed, "I find it inappropriate to discuss someone who is no longer with us, especially someone who has contributed to cinema with such remarkable films. I hold great respect for him, and I believe any discussion regarding him should be conducted with the utmost respect. I disapprove of casual commentary... It doesn't sit well with me. I've come across certain remarks made about him, and it saddened me. Criticise me if you must, but refrain from criticising someone who isn't here to defend themselves or have their story told. I will address my material living arrangements soon, but for now, I find solace in residing in the hearts of millions, without charge."
