Vidhu Vinod Chopra's "12th Fail," starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar, has been a box office success for over five months, with 25 weeks completed and a pending release in China. Massey's portrayal of a village boy has earned him numerous awards. He credits Rajkumar Hirani, known for hits like "3 Idiots" and the "Munnabhai" series, for recommending him to Chopra for the role.

In an interview, Vikrant credited Rajkumar Hirani for recommending him for the role, stating, "It was because of Raju Sir that I got a film. He was generous enough to recommend my name, and then Vinod sir met me."

Vikrant expressed gratitude to Rajkumar Hirani, stating, "Raju sir has been very kind to me since I started in films; he's seen most of my work. When Vinod sir and Raju sir discussed making this film, he recommended me for the project, having seen me on sets and worked with his assistants who are now directors."

He carried on, "I thank Raju Sir every time I meet him .. I met him a few days ago, and I thanked him again. He is someone who gets very shy when someone praises him,” Vikrant added.

Reports indicate that Vikrant and Rajkumar Hirani are collaborating on a web series, with Hirani producing and one of his former assistants making their directorial debut with the show.
