As part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a grand Sardarkatha will be held at the Navnat Centre, Hayes, London on 20th and 21st September 2025. Jointly organised by Sardardham, Ahmedabad and the National Council of Gujarati Organisations (NCGO-UK) with support from the Indian diaspora, the event pays tribute to India’s Iron Man, whose visionary leadership unified over 500 princely states into the Union of India.
A delegation of around 20 people from India will attend this historic event, including Shailesh Sagpariya, Gagji Sutariya (President of Sardardham, Ahmedabad) and Manish Kapadiya (Co-ordinator of Sardarkatha).
The Sardarkatha will be narrated by Shailesh Sagpariya, celebrated for his engaging and thought-provoking storytelling that vividly brings Sardar Patel’s life, leadership, and values to life. A former Senior Class-I Officer with the Government of Gujarat, Sagpariya has selflessly mentored countless students preparing for competitive exams, without any bias toward caste or community. Hailing from the small village of Moviya in Saurashtra, he supported his family through farm work, office jobs, and diamond polishing, all while excelling academically. He earned a B.Com. Gold Medal and later secured third rank in the GPSC Class-I Officers’ Examination after completing his M.Com. Known for his simple yet powerful narratives, he is the author of 33 books, many of which are award-winning bestsellers. A highly respected speaker, his lectures and seminars are held regularly across Gujarat and India, inspiring thousands.
Distinguished guests and community leaders from India and the UK will attend, making this a landmark celebration of unity, leadership, and shared heritage. The Sardarkatha is expected to draw large audiences eager to reflect on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision, integrity, and enduring influence.
This two-day London event serves not only as a tribute but also as a powerful reminder of Patel’s lasting legacy of courage, consensus, and nation-building that transcends borders.
