Arun Vishnuprasad Vyas

Arun Vishnuprasad Vyas, the father of the Trustee of BAPS Swaminarayan Temple, Anupbhai Vyas, sadly passed away on Wednesday 13th December 2015.

Born in Maninagar, Ahmedabad, India, in 1934, Arun Vyas was the middle child of five brothers and two sisters. He was the son of Sanjuben Vyas, and Vishnuprasad Dahyabhai Vyas, who was a station master in Indian railways.

He was the only member of his family to give up the comfort and security of his family home in Maninagar to travel to the UK via a steamship in 1957. He travelled to the UK at the age of 23 in order to study accountancy.

On 16th December 1965, Arun Vyas married Bhartiben, and went on two have two children.

After meeting Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj in the early 1980s, he became a staunch BAPS satsangi. He always took every opportunity to have the divine darshan and labh of Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj.

His final sankalp was to meet Mahant Swami Maharaj on 20th October 2017, New Year's Day, Annakut. His wish was fulfilled by the divine grace of Mahant Swami Maharaj.

Arun Vishnuprasad Vyas is survived by his wife Bhartiben, his son Anup, daughter Paru, daughter-in-law Dipika, son-in-law Dean, and grandsons, Harsh and Chaitanya.
