Ameet Jogia MBE and Reena Ranger OBE have announced their decision to step down as Co-Chairs of Conservative Friends of India (CF India) after five years of dedicated service and notable accomplishments.
During their highly successful tenure, Ameet Jogia MBE and Reena Ranger OBE transformed Conservative Friends of India (CF India) into the largest and most active Conservative Party affiliate since its founding by Lord Dolar Popat and then-PM David Cameron in 2012. Their leadership saw record membership growth—widely credited with boosting Rishi Sunak’s leadership campaign—and deepened engagement with the British Indian community.
They also elevated CF India's profile by hosting some of the most anticipated events at Party Conference, including packed receptions with Prime Ministers and senior ministers, and organised numerous high-profile gatherings that strengthened ties between the Conservative Party and British Indians.
During their term has led impactful community outreach, policy forums, and cultural events that strengthened ties between the British Indian community and Westminster. Under their leadership, CF India championed key policy discussions and significantly expanded its regional network, establishing active local chapters that continue to engage thousands of British Indians in the democratic process.
In a message to members, Ameet and Reena said:
"It has been a profound honour to serve this organisation and champion the unique and enduring bond between the Conservative Party and the British Indian community.
We are proud of what we have achieved together. During our time as Co-Chairs, we've had the privilege of working alongside some extraordinary individuals within both the Conservative Party and the British Indian community.
CF India has appointed its new Co-Chairs: The Rt Hon Sir Oliver Dowden MP, former Deputy Prime Minister, and business leader Koolesh Shah. Both bring valuable experience and are committed to building on the strong foundation set by their predecessors.
In a joint statement, the new Co-Chairs said: “It is a privilege to take on this responsibility and build on the outstanding work of Ameet and Reena. Conservative Friends of India plays a vital role in ensuring that the voice of the British Indian community is heard, valued, and represented in the political mainstream.
