Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar hosted a melodious musical evening on Friday, 22 August, featuring Gujarat’s renowned singer Maya Deepak. Held at the Sangat Advice Centre in Harrow from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, the event saw over 80 music lovers enjoy a delightful mix of Gujarati and Hindi film songs.
During her brief visit to London, Maya Deepak, accompanied by Shashi Rana, enthralled the audience with classic Bollywood hits, keeping everyone swaying to the music. Special family guests of Asian Voice and Gujarat Samachar’s Publisher/Editor CB Patel including Jayshreeben, Rajendrakumar, Kokilaben, Pragnaben, Kalpanaben, Subhasbhai, Vandanaben, and Pravina Patel, traveled from London and the USA to enjoy the soulful performances. Among the London-based Gujaratis who attended were Devi Parekh, Pushpa Raja, Jyoti Shah, Tilu Patel, Surendra Patel, Bhavini Patel, Jitu Patel, Vimalji Odedra, Dhanu Kara, Rupa Virani, Saroj Vadgama, Kishor Vadgama, Anila Shah, Bhanu Nagda, Dr Pravin Patel, and many others.
At the programme’s conclusion, Maya Deepak was honoured with a bouquet by ABPL’s UK Operations Head, Pooja Raval. Similarly, renowned Param Vaishnav Pravinaben Patel, celebrated for her soulful Pushtimargiya bhajans, was felicitated with a bouquet presented by her sisters-in-law: Jayshreeben, Vandanaben, and Vasantiben, who had specially travelled from the USA for the occasion.
CB Patel praised Pooja Raval and her team for organising the event efficiently and for warmly serving everyone a delicious meal from “Shayona". He also thanked Kanti Nagda MBE, Bhanu Nagda, and Anila Shah of the Sangat Advice Centre for their support, as well as the talented singers and musicians, including Shashi Rana, tabla players Sunit Chandarana and Atulbhai, Vinubhai Vadgama, Pareshbhai, and all other accompanying artists.
